Some news--Crystal will be gone a bit. New layout, Zarek and I did it. Greatness? She did the colors and I did the graphiX. ^^;; Still working out the scroll bar and other images and stuff. But yes, newness of layoutness.

All right, I did a lot of cleaning around here, closing threads and moving them. If your thread was moved and you don't think it was dead yet, just let me know in the Attn: Everyone thread and it will be returned to it's original spot. Also, if you see anything that needs to be changed, post there as well.

The Drop Off

This is the first place that new arrivals to the island see, a rather intimidating expanse of beach surrounded by rocky cliffs. Whether or not a wolf's appearance here is coincidence or engineered by humans, newcomers find themselves at the crossroads between the two rival packs, Acidic Shadows pack to the east and Broken Rain to the west. This shoreline is relatively inhospitable, drowning the hopes of many strangers until they manage to find the beauty hidden behind the dock that extends into the salty waters.

Broken Rain
Alphas: Kuugan | Hallowed
The forest at first seems desolate and despairing, broken branches littering the rich soil like the skeletons of the dead and storm clouds brewing a darkness that constantly casts the land into shadows. Rain is frequent here, so the earth generally has a very damp scent to it, the rivers often flooding their shallow banks. The valley in which the territory is located has sloped, craggy walls surrounding the basin, erosion having taken its toll on the features of the land. Beautiful yet somehow haunting, this is a land broken by rain, living and dying with its touch.

Acidic Shadows
Alphas: Lopears | Chinyere
Despite its given name of ‘Acidic,’ this territory has only earned that name through its beautiful green scenery, the varying shades of vivid emerald forming a stunning kaleidoscope of hues from the canopy of trees above to the grass which coats the wilderness in which the pack is located. As night covers Acidic Shadows with its wings of obsidian, the colors brighten acidically to sting the eyes of the unwary until they are dulled by darkness. The foliage often obscures landmarks in this place, so it is also possible to wander aimlessly and become very, very lost in this untamed woodland. Caution is (discreetly) advised.

Forgotton Shore
Given the name, this north shore is usually deserted due to the the fact that it is found on the opposite edge of the island from where the action is. The sand is scorching hot when the sun beats down upon it, and usually cools when the moon rises to shade it, even going so far as to be cold underfoot, especially on the parts closer to the water's edge where the ocean has touched. Its beauty has sunken low beneath the moss on the edges of the tree, loose depris on the land taking away the scenery, giving it a deceptively barren appearance to this border between land and sea.

Light-Hearted Valley
Many wolves enjoy coming here to lay back and relax, for this valley holds within its boundaries a feeling of freedom. Usually a place that radiates calmness, fights are uncommon here, and arguments kept to an absolute minimum. It is a place whose name came directly from its best description: light-hearted. Bird songs resonate through the sparsely forested valley, for it is here that the birds, too, enjoy congregating, singing out to let other birds know when they’ve claimed their trees, a pleasant sound that most wolves are known to enjoy. This is also the place where the four alphas first met and subsequently became enemies.

Crystal Falls
The falls are located in the center of the island, where the clear waters of a lake reside with a troubled waters where the beautiful waterfall that cascades down the main mountian splashes into its crystalline depths. Being surrounding by the valley, this calm basin is protected from much of the hustle and bustle of the other areas, radiating a peacefulness that the wolves gather to bask in whenever life's troubles get a little too harsh. For some reason, the grass always looks greener by these shimmery waters, and the trees taller, healthier. It could be just the presence of water, but who knows?

Sandy Forest
Located near the north shore, this forest shares the same sand as a soil as the far shore, giving it a much different feeling from rest of the forest to the south, where the ground is more stable. Luscious trees and flowery bushes grow tall through that sifting soil, causing the area to retain the humidity it gains from rain and proximity to the ocean itself. Often, the combination of humidity and heat, for especially during midday the sun will cause this beachside stand of trees to become stiflingly hot, causes many wolves to avoid Sandy Forest, unwilling to brave such extreme conditions. However, wolves who come here in the morning or evening tend to be pleasantly surprised by what the forest has to offer them.
